Abstract

Conjoncture, Change and Stability in a Rural Domain on the Boé Plain : the Teste Farm from 1817 to 1860. The monographie study of an important agricultural domain on the Boé plain near Agen from 1817 to 1860 makes it possible to answer an often asked question : what date for the Agricultural Revolution ? In other words, when were certain crops such as barley, rye or hemp abandoned ; when did artificial prairies and three field crop rotations appear ; when were more rational tools such as iron harrows or large scythes introduced ? In the Lot-et-Garonne countryside, this revolution had only touched the more important domains, managed by enlightened owners eager to fructify their capital, by 1860.
