Abstract
Description of a new Semiotus species from Ecuador and designation of the lectotype of a thereto related species (Coleoptera, Elateridae). This work concerning the neotropical genus Semiotus (Coleoptera, Elateridae) gives the description of a new species from Ecuador pertaining to "Group 5" according to Candèze and designates the lectotype of a thereto related species.
