Nunc, tum, nuper: Lucrèl and History

Abstract

Does Lucretius develop a conception of history, either as a theory of progress or as a theory of decadence? In fact, the passages where he talks about the past periods of Nature and successive human inventions are rather a reflection on the present and on the series of facts, signs and monuments that now affect our bodies.
