Abstract
The violent action is loaded with meanings, assigned by the specific society in which it occurs. In that case, the center of interest are the representations and its emotional connections, the configuration emotional person in whom occurs the crime of passion. In the crime of passion, the modern conception of the person as a body split between a «spirit» and a body is specially significant. According to this configuration, the feelings appear in the «spirit» where occur occult processes to the other individuals, inscrutables and a little mysterious. The work is built around three narrative forms on crimes of passion: the personal stories of contemporary passionate criminals of Brazil and Colombia and the judicial files of these same studied cases. It identifies three big mechanisms of assignement of meaning: the faiths that the violence is an act of madness, those whose violence explodes in a sudden way and the sentimentalism of the love. A way appears to open towards a complete compression and not a dichotomy of the human behavior, the meeting place of which has to see with the feelings as aspects of the knowledge, with the particular attributes of relation with the social environment.
