Abstract
The environment does not only concern geophysical facts, it is also cultural. A geo-cultural approach of small neighborhood shops in Martinique called “boutiques” and formerly “flows economy”, requires an analysis of people attending these social spaces, especially vendors and customers, including their perceptions, experiences and appropriation of these spaces often used as geographical and socio-cultural benchmarks. Moreover, this also makes highlights the location and mutation parameters of neighborhood shops that tend to disappear over time in favor of more modern early distribution places. The interest of this investigation is based on an awareness of heritage values represented by the neighborhood shops in the history and the environment of Martinique.
