A quick look at macroeconomic indicators since independence is enough to convince that the Sudanese economy — given the existing resources — has not been well managed, not only that the “national cake” — GNP — has not grown fast enough, but the distribution of its shares has been unfair. Inequalities between regions and socio-ethnic groups in access to power and wealth have therefore fuelled dissatisfaction...
