The speech in the form of a dialogue, containing an abbreviated abbreviated to the philosophy of Aristote, for the ornamentation of nostre Françoise de François de Neufville, abbé de Grandmont [1584]. An ambiguous illustration of the French language and the philosophy of Aristote

Abstract

The speech in the form of dialogue, containing a familiar abregé from the Philoophia of Aristote, for the ornamentation of the French language, is a treaty little known by François de Neufville, published in 1584 and not republished since. As his title indicates, the author is part of the debate at the time to defend the ability of the French language to deal with philosophical issues. However, this philosophical dialogue with complex challenges leads to an ambiguous and nuanced position.
