Violence and women in Granada in the first half of the 18th century

Urban Chronic of the 17th century are plagued by dramatic events reflecting structural violence. For the city of Granada, the Anales de Henríquez de Jorquera show many cases of violence. Their list of cases is not exhaustive. The author prefers to select those with striking characteristics. However, it is also silent on certain offences. There are cases with remarkable actors and others with very cruel actions. There are also incidents in which a woman has been the victim or perpetrator of acts of violence, particularly in the event of murder. Your brief reference is accompanied by some personal comments. Some cases of women’s participation are also included in this study.
