Abstract
This article is an account of an experiment undertaken in a French high school located in the north-west of Lyon during the school year 2016-2017. The aim of this experiment was to test the hypothesis that the spatial actions, representations and perceptions of the students make it possible to define the school as a mesologic « milieu » (Bergue, 1987). The interest of this approach is to be able to characterise the interactions between the bodies (of the students) and the space represented by the school in order to refine the understanding of the relationship that the students have with this space. To achieve this, the work of observation and data collection was done by using a method combining ‘participant observation’ (Pétonnet, 1982) and ‘commented paths’ Adams, 1982).
