Abstract
In a context of upgrading the arts of speech, as evidenced for example by the vogue of eloquence competitions, the success of a film like Out, or the renewed emphasis on oral speech in school curricula, this issue raises the challenges of this return of eloquence, teaching and literature and explores possible models for learning public speech. In a context of revaluation of the arts of speech, as witnessed for example by the vogue for eloquence competitions, the success of a movie such as Upper, or the renewed importance given to oral expression in the school curriculum, this volume reviews the issues at stake in this return to eloquence, both in teaching and in literature, and explores possible models for learning to speak publiccly.
