This paper examines the place and role assigned by the official documents for French primary school (school curricula for the teaching of French and civic education, accompanying resources for their implementation) to the literary heritage in relation to moral and civic education. Does this literary heritage benefit of a special status? Is it supposed to have particular ethical impacts?
