Abstract
Since the 2010s, Greek feasts have been regularly organized in Brussels in order to promote the cultural and gastronomic diversity of this country, and to collect funds and help the Greek population suffering from the economic crisis. There is also the intention to repair what is considered to be an economic and social disorder. This article analyses the way these “promotional” feasts reveal characteristics that are typical of traditional religious feasts. Three aspects are particularly examined: the mechanisms of promise, of calculability and of singularization.
