Abstract

This article aims at assessing the problem of mental health for people involved in varied functions in syndical organizations. The author based their reflexion on a certain number of observations obtained while intervening with some permanent workers, formation agents and syndical officers. In this text, avenues of research and elements of the problem are delimited which in turn could be used as references for a more systematical research, such as role conflicts, personal and social identity, emergence of new values (such as the interaction with the body, the work, the affective world, the authority), new relations between man and woman, new conception of militant activity. Then the authors discuss the traditional stand of the syndical circles towards these themes and also discuss ways of integrating these ideas when seeing this problem in terms of mental life or quality of life.
