Abstract
The democratisation of travel, new technologies and the media bring us in almost daily contact with the most diverse languages. Simultaneous, literary, journalistic and technical translation is the only mediation between languages, but also between cultures. ‘BR/b In addition to the traduttore formula, Traditore, what mechanisms are in place when it comes to translating a language? Must the translation be deleted so that the work appears to be designed in the language of arrival or that the particularisms of the original language are preserved? This book presents the history, theories and linguistic and literary operations of this very specific activity: translation.
