Traditionally dispensers but also sometimes prescribers of the influenza vaccine, dispensing pharmacists from two major French regions — Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Nouvelle Aquitaine — have their role extended to administering this vaccine. Testing of the administration of the influenza vaccine by dispensing pharmacists is planned, but this new task is very much framed: the Decree and the Order of 10 May 2017 impose strict conditions both on the training of pharmacists and on the authorisation of pharmacies, the eligibility of patients, their informed consent and the traceability of batches of vaccines administered.
