Abstract
This work is the reporting of a qualitative research carried out at a municipal school in Campo Grande, MS, involving three teachers teaching mathematics at the fundamental level from the 5th to the 9th year. The information was obtained by means of a recorded interview and the discussion was based on the teaching models proposed by Gascón, namely: teoricist, modernised and technicalist, with their respective interactions resulting in models: classic, empirist and constrained to use relatively widely in educational circles. Teachers have spoken and sketched teaching procedures, the analysis of which points to the notable presence of theorism and the classic model that is the result of the combination of theorism with technicism.
