References to the risk society have already become racketels and have expressed the spirit of uncertainty and uncertainty at the time rather than a sociological theory in the strict sense. Let us briefly recall the contribution of Beck and Luhmann, among others, to the sociology of risk and we started to interpret risk as an aspect of the contingency of modern society. Contingency awareness, although present in Western thinking since Aristotles, is gaining an accelerator impulse with the methodical doubt of Descartes to impose dramatically with the implosion of large metaphysical systems. With references to Tomás de Aquino and Richard Rorty, we propose to reinstate what is needed in their accidental sense. In addition to restoring the paradoxical structure of the contingency, we can achieve a better understanding of the standards of technical modernity.
