Participation approach — project approach. How does home participation question the practices and occupations of the urban project?

Abstract

urban skills folder The contribution of residential participation in urban projects seems to be becoming less and less debated for urban developers. On the other hand, it is the specific conditions for setting up and conducting participatory approaches that ask: do they, technicians, project managers, project managers, experts and private planners and operators, etc. Do the development of digital collaborative tools have given rise to new opportunities in order to take part in the definition of their living environment and to stimulate the public debate on urban and architectural projects. At the same time, the introduction of collaborative digital tools has opened up new opportunities in order to increase the collection of the opinion and stimulate the public debate on urban and architectural projects, without, however, fully addressing the question of local authorities? How are the skills and professional postures accompanying them invited to redefine and reorganise themselves, in order to recognise, integrate and properly position the contribution of residents in the project, and it is on these issues that we have chosen to look at the present dossier of Aptitudes Urbaines. On each topic already dealt with in our previous Newsletters, ‘The faces of urban programming’, ‘Operational plans for urban projects’, ‘Urban planning training, what are the challenges now?’ we are collecting and talking about issues that affect our current affairs. This need for collective clarification of the methods of organising residential participation is all the more important at a time of negotiated urban planning and public-private co-production, in order to ensure that a role is reserved for the dwelling in the project despite the time, operational and financial requirements of these new orders.
