Study of organisational learning from the perspective of the five disciplines of the organisation learning

Abstract

The formation and constant development of the people in the organizations, constitute one of the essential elements to achieve the company's success, that´s why managing the learning processes represents an aspect of relevant importance in this sense. The objective of the present investigation is to characterize the organizational learning in the Complex July 26 of the Branch CIMEX Santiago de Cuba departing from the conception of the five learning disciplines of the learning organization. It was employed the qualitative methodology and the ethnomethodological method which allow to study learning through an holistic and systemic view, and identify the methods and strategies employed by people to learn from five learning strategies: personal domain, mental models, shared vision, team learning and systemic though. The techniques used were the document review, the Learning Organization Test, the manager’s in-depth interview, the group interview and the observation. It is expose like results the different ways to the acquisition and conversion of knowledge that are used at the entity, as well as the strategies and learning tools. Also, it was possible to identify the existence of barriers that limit the development of the organizational learning, join to the presence of organizational elements that favor it.
