El Libro del conosçimiento, written around 1385, was described as Spanish Mandeville, not without reason. However, this collection of merveilles has long been read as a real travel narrative and is thus cited as a source of information in the chronological history of the shipment of Jean de Béthencourt to the Canary Islands in 1402.
