Abstract
In this work we are proposing an approximation to the construction of the political power in force in the province of San Luis since 1983, by investigating the mechanisms of production and symbolic reproduction that consolidate its hegemony. The question that guides this article is where local authorities find their sources of legitimacy and how do they use them? In this regard, our concern is focused on the past uses of the dominant peak bloc, the image it builds on it and the type of identity it promotes there. We present in the following pages an initial approach to the subject of identity and its relationship with memory through the so-called ‘puntanity’.
