The decision-making crisis and metropolitan governance: the case of Mexico City
Abstract
The aim of this communication is to present the main components of Mexico’s megalopole defined here as a “political metropolis”. We want to clarify the features of metropolitan governance in Mexico City. Thus, I shall address the characteristics of partisan competition and of an increasingly radicalised social movement, in my view. All this will allow us, first, to identify the main forces and then to identify relations, tensions and contrasts in the governability of Mexico’s largest metropolis.
