Abstract
This article explores five of the implications of the baptismal catechumenate for religious education: ongoing conversion, the communal responsibility for initiating members, prayer and liturgy at the center of the religious education process, rootedness in the Word of God and the mysteries in which we believe, and the call to participate in the mission of Christ as disciples who serve others. Religious education must lead towards the practice of the faith.
