Abstract
If we consider the importance of the indigenous movement in Ecuador and its leaders, we will see that this is a topic that will be further understood, all the more so since the uprising in January 2000, throughout Latin America, ethnic organisations continue to look closely at what is happening with Ecuadorian indigenous people, making them a sign movement for their Latin American myths. The issue of education is not of minor importance, as it is vital from any point of view for the individual development of both individuals and a country. (Rivero, 1999). For Ecuadorians, school education is one of the main mechanisms of social mobility, even greater than the labour market or the distribution of wealth. For indigenous people it is not the exception, education will give them access to greater areas of participation, be it in the social, political, academic or employment spheres.
