Abstract

Fil: Acevedo, Verónica Judith. University of Buenos Aires. Faculty of Philosophy and Letras. Institute of Archaeology; Argentina. Study Group on the Hispano-Indigenous Contact; Argentina. FIL: López, Mariel Alejandra. National Council for Scientific and Technical Research; Argentina. University of Buenos Aires. Faculty of Philosophy and Letras. Institute of Archaeology; Argentina. Study Group on the Hispano-Indigenous Contact; Argentina. Work presented at 3st. Argentine archaeometry Congress held in the city of Córdoba from 22 to 25 September 2009. This work presents preliminary results of the archaeometric analysis of residues observed in the form of white threads on ceramic fragment surfaces. The sample observed belongs to the Pintoscayoc 1 site or alero of the circumferences, located in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, Jujuy, Argentina, and is dated 450 A.P. Among the possible causes of the appearance of this type of waste, compositional, functional, depository or storage scenarios of the sample were assessed after it was extracted from the burial matrix. On the basis of the conclusions reached, new questions arise, including on preventive approaches to incorporate the conservation design of archaeological ceramic samples.
