Abstract
the above compilation is a publication from 2014, promised by Dora Barrancos. It consists of 12 articles produced by specialists from different disciplines, including history, although there is no shortage of researchers in areas such as physical education and education sciences. Various rigorous analyses are presented in this work on medical speeches, knowledge and practices in relation to physical culture in Argentina between 1880 and 1970. During that period, various actors and institutions put into circulation, distribution, transmission and production a heterogeneous set of senses linked to the organic body and its normal functioning, and to subjects and problems that went beyond the biological universe, such as morality, beauty, sexuality, desire, masculinity and feminity, among others. In this way, different areas of physical practice are considered, referring to the various branches of medicine that helped to control, administer, govern the bodies on the move.
