Abstract
A legal case opposing the lord of Mesnil-Eudes to the king’s prosecutor and the potential heir of family of «brigands» in Lancastrian Normandy leads to the question of the ability of the parties involved to play the Norman legal formalism to their advantage, and to pursue the question of the female part in this «brigandage».
