Abstract
In this work, we analyse education in European countries, both globally and from a gender perspective, and we use the information derived from this analysis to compare the educational situation presented by these countries with that we see in various indicators reflecting other socio-economic aspects of these countries. For the multidimensional analysis of the state of education taking into account gender, we use the Examination of Multiple Fact Analysis technique with the aim of comprehensively analysing the relative positions of the countries concerned in terms of education. The educational situation in these countries, summarised by the first factors of the factorial analysis, is combined with that provided by various socio-economic indicators to analyse whether the education performance of these countries is accompanied by some pattern in the other indicators analysed.
