Abstract
This article addresses the concept of counterfeiting in interaction with the Internet and, in particular, with the concept of cybercrime. The combination of cyber criminality and counterfeiting makes it possible to decrypt the current challenges, at the intersection of a post-industrial economy focusing on the concept of information networks and an industrial economy based on tangible goods in particular from the creative industries. The first part shows the complexity of each of the two concepts and, in particular, the ambiguities of counterfeiting and the related emerging forms of crime. The second part sets out the real challenge of the pair, which lies in the mastery of ‘virtual’ and ‘real’ networks. In conclusion, the strategic challenges of ‘cybercriminality-counterfeiting’ will be highlighted by questioning the law enforcement aspects of this form of crime and seeking solutions that can best manage the risks associated with the pair in question.
