Measurement of the system of values in a subgroup of the Bolivian population

Abstract

The purpose of this investigation is to describe the system of values for the Bolivian population, comprising men and women aged over 18 in strata 3,4,5 and 6. On the basis of the measurement of a set of values, it is possible to know the basis for the personality of these individuals, their axiological characteristics and how they relate to their social world. It is a descriptive/correlational study measuring the proposed system of values in the value scale of S.H. Schwartz (EVS). This study looks at people’s attitudes towards different everyday situations, forming the first component in a study of the lifestyles of this population. The values were measured through an instrument with a pre-designed Likert scale. The main result of the investigation was that the structure of values for lobsters over the age of 18 years of ESTR from 2 to 6 is determined by values such as conformity, tradition, achievement, safety, satisfaction and power. These values are directed towards the two components of the lobster value model (mvb): personal growth and material growth.
