Abstract
`titrebWhy don’t we believe Sociologists?`/titrebThree main kinds of reasons and motives can be distinguished to explain why teachers, however well-informed they are, do not truly believe in the findings of research in sociology. First of all, there are explanations which are rooted in the positions of individuals in the system, positions which lead them to deny the findings concerning wide-ranging general studies. Moreover, people involved in education have difficulty accepting research findings which directly contradict the beliefs they must necessarily have in order to carry out their work. It’s finally on the fringes that are found the real interests which explain the refusal of research findings.
