Abstract
Using the case of a teenage girl who self-harmed, the author questions the place and function of the practices of self-cutting. Witnesses of a struggle against the omnipresence of the “one,” these violent acts that take one’s own body as the object are here considered as being potential holders that can open up creative paths, leading to a figurative process. The purpose of the work carried out in mediation workshops offered in the specialized unit aims to support the capacity of representation at work, by moving the teenager toward sublimatory solutions.
