Abstract
Type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases and cancer are among the most common chronic diseases in the current world 1. Chronic diseases are long-term diseases, usually non-communicable and incurable2. In particular, their main risk factors are linked to unhealthy lifestyles adopted by individuals, such as a diet that is too rich in sugar, fat and salt, sedentarity and tabagisme3. It is not surprising to see, at least in the western states, the explosion of public health measures aimed at influencing citizens’ most personal daily choices in order to combat the scourge of chronic diseases. Laws or draft laws aimed at banning smoking in public places, banning the sale of products containing a certain percentage of processed fat, banning malffle in schools, taxing the mist or regulating the advertising of sweet and fatty products made to children, as well as programmes to raise awareness of healthy diets and physical exercise, are topical.
