Abstract
Faced with the profound transformations that the world of work is experiencing (economic crisis, competition, financial leadership, ...) employees see themselves "pressed, compressed, stressed" and two major risks have emerged simultaneously: moral harassment at work (HMT) (Desrumaux, 2011) and burnout (Truchot, 2016). Yet the links between these indicators have been little explored and common antecedents are rarely identified simultaneously. Using a questionnaire, we tested the relationships between HMT and burnout by measuring the mediating role of perceived organizational support (POS) in the relationship between these two indicators. The study was conducted on a sample (N = 467) of workers from French occupational sectors. The results verify the link between HMT and burnout and the mediating effect of POS in the relationship between HMT and VD (emotional exhaustion and depersonalization), highlighting the important role of organizational support in preventing burnout.
