Business models in the age of internet and digitalisation: six avenues of action to promote the performance of a company

Abstract

Internet and digitalisation are changing ways of doing things in many industries, creating both crises and new opportunities. In the cultural and information industries, although it has never listened to, read, seen and used as many music, books, films, software and other cultural and informational goods, it is extremely difficult for companies working there to achieve profitability. In return, within these industries, companies take original initiatives to adapt to and benefit from these technological phenomena. Drawing on the practices adopted by these innovative companies, this article sets out six avenues for action that can promote the performance of business models in the age of the Internet and digitalisation. It presents concrete examples of how these courses of action are deployed, taken from companies in the cultural and information industries, which are particularly affected by these technological phenomena. These approaches can therefore be a valuable tool for practitioners in all industries seeking to adapt their business model to the internet and digitalisation.’ np pagenum = ‘029’/b
