Abstract

the aim of this search is to find out what it is, and what is the role of the supported decision making (TDA) institute in Brazilian law. To this end, we start from reading the Civil Code, Decree No 6.949/2009 (which received the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) and Law No 13.146/2015 (Brazilian Law on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities) in order subsequently to see how the employment of the WCT occurs in the lives of persons with disabilities and how that institute is capable of alleviating the dissonances that permeate the understanding of the concept of disability in the country. In this way, research loses the premises governing the WCT and notes how it is formulated in the Disability Statute and then interprets its validation as a means of overcoming the disability and resource regime that is useful for the full exercise of the autonomy of persons with disabilities.
