Mediatic variation. Innovation in communication's industries and semiotic mutations

Abstract

International audience The article introduces several studies about the mediatic mutations which are focused on the circulation of information and cultural forms in this mediatic context. First, the paper shows how theoretical literature defines the notion of « variation of sense ». Then, based on empirical studies, it shows the dynamic tension between uses of « variation » by the communication’s industries, and the semiotic variation as the process of production of sense.
