Léon terret (1877-1944) music composer

Abstract

On 14/06/2019, Léon terret has no factsheet on wikipedia/Wikidata sites; in order to avoid systematic looting without credit of the data in my online media collection [https://medihal.archives-ouvertes.fr/CHANSONS-PAPIER-IMAGES], I now put these notices online on Hal, attesting to the previous outcome of my searches. Léon terret — Alexandre Émile Eugène terret of his birth name — is a music composer born on 13 May 1877 in the 11th district of Paris (Act No 2007); he died in the 10th district of Paris on 25 January 1944 (Act No 217). Léon terret is buried at the Cemetery of Vaux-le-Pénil (Seine-et-Marne). On partitions: most often ‘Léon terret’, sometimes ‘L. terret’, or rarely ‘terret’ (for example, for collaboration with Émile Spencer). The BNF also retains a title with the spelling ‘A. terret’, hence the existence of two authority notices for this composer, such as ‘Léon terret’ and ‘Alexandre terret’, without mentioning the common identity of the two composers. [Identification of Léon terret, employee of Ernest Dumont, by Eliane Daphy; digital sources: Opale-BNF catalogue, ASCAP Yearbook 1936 (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers), Archives de Paris (Civil Status, Military Recruitment of the Seine); funeral site of the Mairie de Vaux-le-Pénil. On 14 June 2019, BNF authority notice without date of birth, with date of death without place; no factsheets on wikipedia/Wikidata sites; unknown to the Sacem vituel Museum. Keyword on Media “Léon terret (1877-1944)”].
