`titrebSummary`/titrebThe law of 7 July 2016 on the freedom of creation, architecture and heritage enshrined in law the principle that "artistic creation is free." This legal posture would seem to validate the idea, already widespread, that the freedom to create must be established as a principle and censorship remain only an exception. This welcome new development could be the starting point for a change in the position of the legal discourse about art, providing artists with a legal tool to defend creative work. The law thus now makes it possible to think of freedom of creation as a subjective right of the artist, simultaneously autonomous and enforceable.
