Uses of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in a formal teaching and learning process in Basic Education

Abstract

The purpose of research is to interpret the pedagogical uses of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in a teaching and learning unit. The project is theoretically based on the socio-cultural constructivist approach and teaching principles as a tailored and systematic aid; learning is also addressed as a process of active construction of meanings and content and ICT as semi-otic aids mediating the joint activity between teachers and students guiding educational practices. The methodology is based on a simple case study: a complete didactic unit is observed, recorded and analysed, based on the strategy of classroom pedagogical project in the understanding and production of news. The case is developed in a face-to-face scenario of four sessions, supported by some technological devices. The results are analysed by the planned technopedagogical design, identifying that ICT uses are established to measure understanding and learning of the thematic axis of the unit, especially through resources such as videos and slides, establishing that the technological and pedagogical components determine the ways of using ICT in the development of the joint activity.
