Abstract
To put in heritage figures of researchers through the attribution of their names to “places” (institutions, buildings, premises) is to try to make them escape the wear and tear of time and to make them circulate in time. However, any circulation is a movement that leads to transformations, especially in the representations of the latter. In the medium and long term, traces (memory plaques, stelae…) that have not been reactivated may disappear, disappear or simply no longer make sense to the audiences that frequent these places. Especially since the figures of researchers can be used as tools, particularly for signage and/or institutional communication.
