Abstract
International audience From the perspective defended here, asking the question of the concert as an event (or not) is not only a researcher’s problem, but above all a practical one, for those who are present at the concert. The aim of this text is to return to this practical problem, by giving it an extension both methodological (in terms of the description for the ethnographer of what is at stake) and theoretical (in terms of the potential felicity of a show, its character as an event). It is therefore a question of taking ethnographic methods seriously, that is to say, of deploying descriptions from a hip-hop party that allow us to put forward some theoretical proposals on the issue of live performance.
