Organic farming in France. Ecology or mythology

Abstract

Reading report by Jacques Hubschman on the book of P. Cadiou, F. Mathieu-Gaudrot, A. Lefebvre, Y. Le Pape, S. Oriol, L’Agriculture organique in France. Ecology or mythology. "Grenoble, 1975, University Presses of Grenoble, 185 p. (Preface by Jan Dessau). In Geographical Review of Pyrenees and South-West, Volume 49, fascicule 2, 1978. Geosystem and fitting-out. pp. 332-334 an exciting and passionate subject starting with the organic designation: since any farming is of course organic, what right — and by what semantic aberration — does a given practice hold it exclusive? This is the first in the long series of complaints made by its critics about so-called organic farming.
