Abstract
The purpose of this article is to study one of the actors mobilized during the Oaxaca’s conflict in 2006 (Mexico), conflict that lead to the creation of a new actor, the Popular Assembly of the People of Oaxaca (Asamblea Popular de los Pueblos de Oaxaca, APPO) and turned it into the main actor of this process. We focus more precisely on some of the components of this movement, the civilian organizations aggregated in a civil area : the Oaxaca Consortium for Parliamentary Dialogue and Equity, the Centre to Support the Popular Movement in Oaxaca (Centro de Apoyo al Movimiento Popular Oaxaqueño, CAMPO), the Services for an Alternative Education (Servicios para una Educación Alternativa, EDUCA). What are the reasons to rally the mobilization ? To which protest one takes part ? Where does the riots take place ? What was the civil area role for the meetings taking place within ? What were the relations between the different members of APPO ? What were the tensions, the differences to settle between the objectives and courses of actions of the civilian organizations ? So many questions we expect to answer from the testimonies of the actors themselves.
