Max Weber and neo-kantism: towards a Modernity Policy





While the great ideological narratives are crumbling, Max Weber’s ethics of politics reminds us that the power of “conviction” is as essential a component of human conduct as the “sense of responsibility.” In this regard the neo-Kantian philosophy of values, notwithstanding its formalism, not only provides Weber with a theoretical framework which proves fruitful for his sociology, but it also confirms in his eyes the role of an utopian dimension in history.
