Crimes committed by Brazilian women: an analysis of gênero statements

Abstract

Retolls reporting the participation of women in crimes become increasingly common in Brazilian mid. In view of this, this article looks at terms that are produced on the links of speeches and images present in news in newspapers, magazines and websites in 1995 in Brazil. Such an analysis has been found to be the main source in the field of gênery studies, more specifically in authors who make a critical analysis of the notions of identifying gênery. The methodology used was qualitative, using fragments extracted from documents in the public domain. As a partial result, there was a stereotyped report of women involved in crime situations, which are commonly characterised in mid to victimisation, infantilisation, passion, imbalance and abnormality. At the end of the research process, it is clear that the concept of gênere should be problematic in order to avoid a simplistic reading which simply reproduces moral and conservative assessments of the modes of existence.
