Clear message to fight school violence

Abstract

School violence is a fact found in all schools, with different degrees ranging from simple jostling to harassment. So it seems important to talk about it here, and our motivation for this topic is first of all, findings in our schools and in our grades 2 and 3 classes. We then looked for how we could fight against these facts of violence by going further than setting up simple rules and penalties that do not always work. We then thought of the "clear message" which is a device based on communication and empathy that resolves conflicts before there is a violent act. We then wondered how the use of the "clear message" would reduce the rates of violence in our Grade 2 and Grade 3 classes You will then see data comparisons done before and after the device put in place. It would seem that even if it is not a radical solution, the "clear message" could put words on hurts and thus make clear some misunderstandings that provoke anger and violence. We can still say that this solution has had a positive impact on our pupils who first seek to resolve conflicts by communicating, rather than insulting or fighting.
