A Sociology of “Ex-Cons”: Convict Criminology

Convict Criminology has developed in the United States in the last ten years. There is something special about this academic current: its founding members have themselves experienced imprisonment; they are “ex-cons”. This article presents the essential characteristics and aims of this movement.
