Abstract
The purpose of this communication is to propose a work methodology to do an inventory and a catalogue of cultural assets of the municipality of Tanlajás, located in the northeast of the state of San Luis Potosí. The methodology is comprised in four sections: preliminary studies, historical research, field work and cabinet work with the analysis and divulgation of information. Tanlajás as a municipality is the universe of study, having two main variables; cultural assets linked to material heritage, and material assets linked to intangible heritage, which are segmented into typologies for the first case and into categories for the second. Although the investigation is not completed, the first results infer the existence of important archeological sites of the Huasteca culture, -those are no studied yet- in at least five locations, a religious construction derived from the viceroyalty, various buildings linked to the architecture vernacular in rural communities and several elements that must be linked to intangible heritage, for example the ―toreada sagrada‖ during Holy Week.
