Scenario of solid waste management and analysis of environmental impacts at the Atalaia border in Aracaju/SE/Scenario of solid waste management and analysis of environmental impacts in the Atalaia slide in Aracaju/SE

Abstract

The urban advance of the main Brazilian cities around coastal regions is characterised by intense landscape changes and deteriorations. The economic importance of the beach margins in Brazil due to their high importance due to tourism has a strong link with the environmental and natural value of the coastline and coastal regions. In this sense, a number of buildings are installed around the adjacent vicinity of the edge and this puts its environmental and social resources at risk, which occurs in the Orla de Atalaia in Aracaju, for example. This work therefore seeks to ascertain how solid waste management takes place in the Orla de Atalaia and to see the main sources of impacts and their consequences. For this purpose, the environmental impact assessment methodology known as the interaction network was used to map actions and consequential impacts. It can be seen that in the Orla of the city of Aracaju, even if there is a good state of conversation, some actions may be harmful to the environment and society, causing long and short term environmental impacts. The disposal of solid waste from leisure and construction activities in the area under study takes place in such a way as to cause damage to the soil and water resources as a result of pollution. Thus, the conservation and proper management of the Orla de Atalaia is of the utmost importance in order to address economic objectives in conjunction with the environmental balance.
